All CME iLink 2 users connected via Market Segment Gateway (MSGW) will need to migrate to the new iLink 3 Binary Order Entry (BOE) API by Q4 2020.

Migration to CME iLink 3 for MSGW Access is Mandatory - Do It Before November 2020

Migration from CME iLink 2 to iLink 3 Binary Order Entry (BOE) is a CME mandated change for access to CME Globex platform Market Segment Gateway (MSGW) sessions.

The OnixS directConnect: CME iLink 3 Binary Order Entry Handler SDK offers a high performance, low latency, fully supported migration option for this mandated upgrade.

The parallel run period where both iLink 2 and iLink 3 can be used for MSGW access, will start on trade date 17th May 2020 based on the current CME phased production live roll out schedule over 4 weekends concluding on 21st June 2020 (trade date Monday 22nd 2020).

In November 2020 CME iLink 2 access to all MSGWs will be decommissioned. All users of the current CME iLink 2 API accessing the CME Globex platform Market Segment Gateway (MSGW) sessions will need to migrate to the new CME iLink 3 BOE API prior to this date.

Who Needs To Complete CME iLink 3 Binary Order Entry AutoCert+?

Simply put – everyone accessing the CME Market Segment Gateway (MSGW) sessions.

Completion of the CME iLink 3 AutoCert+ certification test cases is mandatory for all market participants accessing the MSGW using the new CME iLink 3 Binary Order Entry API.

OnixS CME iLink 3 AutoCert+ Certification Test Completion

OnixS successfully completed the CME iLink 3 AutoCert+ tests on the 17th April 2020.

The CME iLink 3 BOE API is assertive in injecting order events into the market and is considered an "active" implementation. This contrasts to some post-trade feeds which are considered "passive" as they are purely data consumers and do not require member firms to repeat the certification tests. In all "active" implementation contexts, the OnixS certification is intended to evidence that the OnixS SDK implementations are consistent with the technical connectivity and semantics of the venue API. The order creation, execution, and state management logic is specific to the trading strategy or application code that is outside of the scope of OnixS products; therefore it is mandatory (and best practice) that the trading firm/entity also complete formal conformance certification to validate this order management logic for all implementations. To assist in this OnixS provides specific tutorial guidance, test cases reference implementation snippets and support to OnixS SDK users for the 40+ CME iLink 3 AutoCert+ test cases.
