New Order Entry Protocol Requires Migration from iLink 2 to iLink 3
Ahead of the launch of the CME Globex iLink 3 Binary Order Entry API - the new order entry protocol for the CME Group Globex platform for trading futures, options, and BrokerTec products, OnixS has launched an early-access program for the OnixS CME iLink 3 Binary Order Entry Handler SDK.
Migration from iLink 2 to iLink 3 is a CME mandated change for access to the CME Globex platform Market Segment Gateway (MSGW) sessions.
When Will the Mandated Change Occur?
The current timeline for this change is:
- August 2019 – iLink 3 available in CME New Release environment with limited core functionality for futures and options.
- November 2019 - Complete iLink 3 functionality for futures and options available in the CME New Release environment.
- January 2020 - iLink 3 Autocert+ certification for futures and options available.
- 28 March to 17 May 2020 - Production launch of iLink 3. (Edit: CME postponed to 17 May to 21 June 2020)
- Q4 2020 – Decommissioning of iLink 2 for MSGW access.
OnixS SDK Solutions Ensure Support
All OnixS directConnect SDK solutions support a forward migration path for venue API changes. Where the venue makes changes to the access protocols and APIs, OnixS provides these updates to existing users within the scope of the existing software licensing and support agreements.
This means that for existing OnixS directConnect: CME iLink 2 FIX Order Entry Handler SDK users, the OnixS directConnect: CME iLink 3 Binary Order Entry Handler SDK implementations in C++, .NET Framework, .NET Core and Java will be available and the update to it is included within the current license.
