# PaymentSubType <40993> field

## FIX 5.0 SP2 EP292

### Description

 Type: [int](https://www.onixs.biz/fix-dictionary/5.0.sp2.ep292/index.html#int)

 Used to further clarify the value of [PaymentType <40213>](https://www.onixs.biz/fix-dictionary/5.0.sp2.ep292/tagNum_40213.html).

Valid values:

- 0 = Initial (principal exchange)
- 1 = Intermediate (principal exchange)
- 2 = Final (principal exchange)
- 3 = Prepaid (premium forward)
- 4 = Postpaid (premium forward)
- 5 = Variable (premium forward)
- 6 = Fixed (premium forward)
- 7 = Swap (premium)
  
   Indicates that the premium is to be paid in the style of payments under an IRS contract.
- 8 = Conditional (principal exchange on exercise)
- 9 = Fixed rate
  
   Applicable to [PaymentType <40213>](https://www.onixs.biz/fix-dictionary/5.0.sp2.ep292/tagNum_40213.html)=14 (Rebate) for which [PaymentFixedRate <43097>](https://www.onixs.biz/fix-dictionary/5.0.sp2.ep292/tagNum_43097.html) and its qualifiers supersede [PaymentAmount <40217>](https://www.onixs.biz/fix-dictionary/5.0.sp2.ep292/tagNum_40217.html).
- 10 = Floating rate
  
   Applicable to [PaymentType <40213>](https://www.onixs.biz/fix-dictionary/5.0.sp2.ep292/tagNum_40213.html)=14 (Rebate) for which [PaymentFloatingRateIndex <43098>](https://www.onixs.biz/fix-dictionary/5.0.sp2.ep292/tagNum_43098.html) and its qualifiers supersede [PaymentAmount <40217>](https://www.onixs.biz/fix-dictionary/5.0.sp2.ep292/tagNum_40217.html).
