Onix Solutions the leading provider of high performance FIX-based messaging platforms, today announced the general availability of built-in support for SSL encryption within FIXForge.

Onix Solutions has published a new version of the widely acclaimed .NET FIX Engine with built-in support of SSL encryption and this is available for public download.

Richard Barker Business Liaison Manager Onix Solutions said: "This development was entirely customer driven. In the last quarter we have provided this software to four new clients. SSL support is a requirement for Currenex where the internet is used for trading messages and other destinations. Built-in SSL encryption significantly improves the security of financial transactions and allows inexpensive yet secure financial data exchange over TCP, both in local networks and Internet".

"With the advent of our new release there is no longer a need to use third-party applications to establish a FIX connection to a counterparty requiring SSL. This considerably simplifies the deployment effort and further reduces time-to market. SSL encryption is the current "best-of-breed" in providing application-level encryption and authentication for FIX sessions"
